Long before Industrial Solar was founded in 2008, researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems, the largest solar research institute in Europe, were already working on the Fresnel collector for both large-scale concentrated solar thermal power plants and solar process heating.
Industrial Solar was founded to commercialize the Fresnel collector optimized for industrial applications. Later, Industrial Solar evolved from a product manufacturer to a solutions provider.
Today, we provide turnkey solutions with different technologies based on the specific needs of our clients.
Over the years, we have gathered extensive know-how from different industrial sectors and have realized several international projects. This and the long track record of installed Fresnel collector projects for industrial applications make us a world leader in solar process heating and cooling.

Industrial Solar won the prize in the category 'industry'. The jury honored that, with their operating installations of Fresnel solar steam generators, Industrial Solar proves that solar process steam is feasible, can contribute significantly to a carbon neutral process heat supply and is thus a paradigm shift towards a carbon neutral industrial heat supply.
Industrial Solar’s direct steam generation based on its LF-11 Fresnel collector technology has been awarded the 'Solar Impulse Efficient Solution' label.
The label seeks to bridge the gap between ecology and economy, bringing together protection of the environment and financial viability to show that these solutions are not expensive fixes to problems, but rather opportunities for clean economic growth.
The 'Solar Impulse Efficient Solution' label is granted to solutions that meet high standards of both sustainability and profitability.
In January 2016, Industrial Solar GmbH was awarded the German Innovation Award for Climate and Environment (IKU) by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
The IKU Award is a renowned distinction given to German companies and research institutes for their outstanding innovations related to climate and environment protection.
Crucial for allocating the award to Industrial Solar GmbH in the category of ‘Technology Transfer’ was their sales model of the solar thermal Fresnel Collector system for industrial applications via partners in developing countries and the technology transfer to produce the collectors on site.
Global warming, melting glaciers, tons of plastic in the oceans - these topics are being widely talked about! The new format "Green Life" of the German free TV channel "Welt der Wunder" deals with topics concerning environmental economics, innovative ecological technologies and future green markets, and produced a documentary about Industrial Solar. In this new television series ecological innovations from the German-speaking region are introduced and presented.
The producers of "Green Life" had contacted Industrial Solar last year and their film crew, together with Farah Gammoh, an engineer of Industrial Solar, flew then to Amman / Jordan.
The video shows two solar process heat plants in Amman installed at the companies RAM Pharma and Japan Tobacco International JTI.
Industrial Solar's technology for direct steam generation and cooling is explained and interviews with customers and local stakeholders give an interesting insight into future perspectives and highlight the advantages and possibilities of such sustainable technologies for industry.
Teamwork is the basis of daily life at Industrial Solar. The company’s environment encourages openness and creativity, and the individual contribution of every colleague with their special expertise leads to excellent results. Thereby, the best care and attention is directed towards the requirements of our customers. By means of close cooperation between engineers and economists, and thanks to many years of experience in the field of concentrating solar thermal energy, we can offer sustainable solutions to competitive costs. The strength of our team is to be open-minded towards diverse requirements. We have representatives of many nations from different continents working together outstandingly.
